NIHR Participates in the Careers Day at the Royal University for Women

In activation of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded with the College of Law at the Royal University for Women, the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the Careers Day Fair organized by the Royal University for Women through video-conference technology, with the aim to introduce university students to the career and training opportunities provided by the participating parties.

Prof. Fatima Al-Tareef, Head of the NIHR Training and Education Unit, presented an overview of the NIHR in general and the research fellowship program in the area of human rights in particular, which targets academics, university students, human rights defenders and all those interested in preparing research on human rights.  She also reviewed the conditions for applying for the program and the mechanism for participation in it, as well as its main objectives, which include developing skills in critical thinking and analysis in the area of human rights, supporting and developing innovation and creativity skills to find the best ways to promote and protect human rights, and strengthening partnership with international organizations and universities operating in the area of human rights.

This participation falls within the framework of the NIHR’s keenness to spread and strengthen a culture of human rights among all segments of society and its full encouragement for educational and academic process in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to promote close cooperation with academic authorities in the area of training and capacity building to raise national staff specialized in the area of human rights and refine their skills.
